Day 3 - A good goddess morning

There's something about a morning that feels like a second chance.  We lived through yesterday... now we know better.


​Each morning throughout the month ahead, as you waken imagine yourself as though looking into the eyes of a precious child and welcoming her/him to the world.  A beginner, new with a clean slate on which to draw unicorns and rainbows if so wished.  


If you waken the right way, you sprinkle magic on your day.

As you waken, watch where your mind goes.  Is it straight to the possible dramas that may need to be tackled?  Or how many pieces can you divide yourself into so that everyone gets an equal share?

Be really, really kind to yourself this restful month and know that whatever duty, responsibility or obligation you must take care of in the day ahead, you will return to this place of rest satisfied and contented in the part you played, so that all unfolded as it should.
  • As you waken, lie still and come once again to your senses.  Breathe consciously for three and begin a 'thank you scan' on your body.  Without pondering too long allow your mind go from the tips of your toes to the top of your head, thanking each of your parts for the work it carries out on your behalf.  If you have pain or ache in any area, simply say I notice you. I'll take care of you today. 
  • This may sound strange but hugging increases the levels of oxytocin, the love hormone, so if you can, hug your partner, your dog, your teddy bear, yourself - it all counts!
  • Set the intention for the day ahead by deciding how you want to feel throughout the day.  Energised and focused, creative, loving, learning, adventurous, healing, leading, nourishing, connected etc? Where attention goes energy flows!
  • Start your day with 120mls of warm water with the juice of half a lemon.  This helps flush the digestive system and hydrates the body.  many report a brighter complexion and the lemon is a diuretic which helps with bloatedness.
  • Research shows that those who eat breakfast are contributing to a balanced metabolism and boosting their brain power - why fight it? Prepare your fridge/larder in advance and make a commitment to have a  proper  breakfast fit for a goddess or superhero - and then pay attention to the difference it makes to your energy and concentration levels as the month progresses.
  • Consider preparing your own granola and make it up in little tubs to which you can add honey, yogurt, fresh fruit and skimmed milk etc. as you open it each morning.  In your granola include oats, brazil nuts, sunflower seeds, almonds, walnuts and pumpkin seeds.
  • Then before you begin your breakfast do this …..bless your food.  So often we add a helping of guilt to our food as we open our mouths to consume it, preparing our bodies to expect something it shouldn't have or will harm or assault it.  Blessing our food allows our body prepare for goodness setting us up for the best possible digestion, nourishment, growth and repair.  It also allows us feel connected to the wider world by thanking the hands and the journey that has brought this food to your table.  Ask that the food you are about to eat nourishes into good health, energy and wellbeing every cell in your body.

My practice every morning before breakfast is to carry out my Miracle Morning Practice. This is an hour or a little more of my favourite things - I get up early and I can't imagine life without this most magical of practices now. It includes:
Meditation, Journalling, Reading inspirational blogs/books/text etc., Gratitude List exercise, Select an Angel Guidance card, Creative Flow (using colour pens, I make notes of ideas, books, blogs, curiosity etc.) Scheduling the day ahead - shopping lists, recipes to cook, people to call, places to go.....

Now that you've sprinkled a lot of magic in your day, it's time to live it a restful way.  Choose restful thinking today and remember this doesn't necessarily mean the least active way.  More likely it means doing things differently and resting from the usual- meaning customary or habitual - way.
